Furniture Built for Your Home, Not Someone Else's

Most furniture stores sell you what's in stock. At The Sofa Store, the majority of what we sell is built to order — which means you're not settling for the closest available color or the configuration that almost works. You're designing a piece built to your exact specifications.

How the Custom Order Process Works

Come into our Towson showroom and sit in the frames that appeal to you. Once you've found the right silhouette, we work through the details together: fabric or leather selection from over 1,000 options, configuration (sofa, sectional, chaise, ottomans), cushion fill, arm style, and leg finish. We pull the physical swatches so you can see exactly what you're ordering against real lighting — not a photo on a screen.

When you're ready, we place the order directly with the manufacturer. You'll receive a firm lead time at the time of purchase — typically 6 to 8 weeks for Bassett and Palliser pieces.

Which Brands Are Custom Order

Custom order is available on our Bassett and Palliser lines. Both brands manufacture in North America and build every piece to order. Our Parker House collection consists of finished goods — what you see is what's available, with faster availability as a tradeoff.

Delivery

When your piece is ready, our white-glove delivery team brings it to your home, places it exactly where you want it, and removes all packaging. You don't need to be there with a tape measure — if you want, bring your room dimensions to your showroom visit and we'll confirm fit before you order.
