The Sofa Store opened in Towson in 2011 with a simple idea: Baltimore-area families deserve a place to find furniture they'll actually love — custom-built, honestly priced, and backed by people who know what they're talking about. Fifteen years later, that's still the whole business.

We carry three North American brands — Bassett, Palliser, and Parker House — chosen because they build furniture the right way. Solid frames. Real customization. Fabric and finish options that let you get exactly what works for your home, not just what happened to ship to a warehouse. If you've ever bought a sofa online and regretted it when it arrived, you know why that matters.

Our showroom is 50,000 square feet, which sounds like a lot until you realize it's filled with pieces you can actually touch, sit in, and see in person before you commit. We're not a catalog. We're not a warehouse. We're a place where you can spend an hour with someone who genuinely knows the difference between a chaise-sectional and an L-shape, and why that difference matters for your specific living room.

The Sofa Store shares a building with The Big Screen Store — same family, same block, separate businesses. If you've ever bought a TV from us, you know how we operate: no pressure, honest answers, and we'd rather lose a sale than steer you wrong. Same philosophy here.

We work with a lot of first-time custom furniture buyers, and we love that. If you've never ordered a piece built to your specs before, we'll walk you through the whole process — fabric selection, sizing, lead times, delivery. No surprises.

Come see us Monday through Saturday, 11 to 7, or Sunday 12 to 5. Bring your room dimensions if you have them. Bring photos of your space if you've got them. Or just come in and sit on some sofas. That's always a good place to start.
